Every now and then, the overnight board-op leaves the ticket internet stream stuck in “Rotten Radio” mode (this is a constant stream of old bits and E-Brakes to take the place of restricted broadcasts). This stream is a goldmine for classic audio, such as this classic fight between Bob and Dan. From what I can gather, it’s not the actual fight as it happened, rather, it’s the Musers reviewing it for an E-Brake. BaD Radio was arguing over the news of Rush Limbaugh getting booted from ESPN back in September of 2003, and this argument continued during the break and into the next segment. There are so many different things at work here – you’ll notice a much more conservative, insulting and belligerent Bob and a far angrier, non-vegetarian Dan. Also note the lack of Donny to calm things down, and the absence of Tom to serve as a cathartic punching bag. Wow!
Rotten Radio comes on the web stream every time the Dallas Stars play, which they aren’t allowed to stream over the web. I am glad they finally expanded Rotten Radio from the same two segments/bits over and over again to a multitude of past greatness.
I’m rescinding my earlier post because I heard Rotten Radio during the World Series game on Wednesday night so I’m not sure about the scheduling of it. Maybe they want to be able to start Diamond Talk immediately after the game – just as they do for the Cowboys Post Game Show – which they hadn’t been doing this season. There would be maybe an entire segment of whatever normal programming was going on before they got to Diamond Talk.
