This is the team that used to have a baseball wearing a cowboy hat as it's logo.

The UnTicket doesn’t get sportsy too often, but we have to stop down and recognize the accomplishments of the red-shoed Rangers – the greatest Texas Rangers team to date.  Thanks to the following players:

  • Elvis ‘Tiny-E/My-hair-gets-me-so-much-trim’ Andrus
  • Josh ‘The Natural/J-Ham/Hambone’ Hamilton
  • Nelson ‘Nellie/Boomstick/NC-17′ Cruz
  • Vladimir ‘Vladdy-Daddy/The Impaler/I-Got-Ass-For-Days’ Guerrero
  • Ian ‘Kins/ADD’ Kinsler
  • Julio ‘Jules’ Borbon
  • Michael ‘Face-of-the-franchise/Garden-gnome’ Young
  • Mitch ‘Mitchapalooza/The Bitch/Cuzz‘ Moreland (interview)
  • CJ ‘Ceej/Phiten-Spokesman’ Wilson
  • Colby ‘Colbyashi/Colbra’ Lewis
  • Neftali ‘Neffy/Kid-Closer/Mariano 2.0′ Feliz
  • Tommy ‘Big-Game’ Hunter
  • Cliff ‘Cliff-mas’ Lee
  • Bengie ‘B-Mo/Grimace/Redeemer-of-fat-kids-everywhere’ Molina
  • Matt ‘Matty-May/My-wife-is-olympic-hot‘ Treanor
  • David ‘Murph/Purphy/Phurph-Dawg’ Murphy
  • Jeff ‘Frenchy/Hans Gruber‘ Francoeur
  • Derek ‘Dutch Oven/Walc-is-claw-spelt-backwards’ Holland
  • Darren ‘Ollie’ Oliver
  • Darren ‘Oh-Day, oh-day-oh-day’ O-Day
  • Dustin ‘Nip/Nip-Nip-Wiener’ Nippert
  • Frank ‘Franky-Fran/Get-better-soon’ Francisco
  • Alexi ‘Ow-my-lat/Sure-I’ll-marry-you‘ Ogando
  • Clay ‘the-face-of-meth’ Rapada
  • (Apologies to those Rangers whom I’ve forgotten)

The following Managers/Owners:

  • Ron ‘Wash/Cocaine-is-a-hell-of-a-drug’ Washington (drop page)
  • Nolan ‘King-of-the-snow-monkeys’ Ryan (interview)
  • Chuck ‘Deep-Pockets/Cuban-is-my-bitch’ Greenberg
  • Mike ‘The Mustache’ Maddux (a great interview)
  • Clint ‘Do-you-really-miss-Rudy-Jaramillo’ Hurdle (also a great interview)
  • Jon ‘Still-want-that-fern-Bob?’ Daniels
  • Jim ‘I-split-my-pants’ Sundberg

Also, a tip of the cap to former Ranger greats and Ticket favorites Justin ‘The Smoak Monster’ Smoak, and Jared ‘Salty’ Saltalamacchia.

Oh — Corby loves to bag on twitter, but the following baseball tweeters made things all the more enjoyable this season: @aandro, @sbass1310, @newbury1310, @NewbergReport, @backstop10, @theoldgreywolf, @Evan_P_Grant, @killer1310, @MikeBacsik, @TicketRadio, and @Bobanddan.

And last but not least – A tip of the cap to the boys of Diamond Talk.  As much as I like to kick those guys in the nads (here & here), it has to be noted that Sean Bass and David Newbury did a great job all season long.  I might repost a diamond talk from some point in the season (Game 6 over the Yankees, or the final edition of the season) if people request it in the comments below.

It’ll take a while to cut up, but I’ll put up the ALCS Game 6 D-Talk. Those boys gushed for three straight hours.

Regarding requests – I don’t see the tweets to @theunticket or emails directly to DP, so apologies if you asked earlier.

Regarding updating daily Muser audio – DP handles that whenever he has free time. My understanding is that he’s currently serving as a mercenary for a feared drug lord in the Congo, so updates to those daily staples might go stale until he’s met his quota for raping and pillaging. If there is something special (i.e. a funny guest, explosive diarrhea, a funny guest with explosive diarrhea) then I’ll make sure it gets up.

*wink*
