Received an email today from the “Zookeeper”, who runs 98kzew.com directing me to a special “Groundhog Day” post. He has audio that he recorded on February 2, 1984 when LaBella and Mike Rhyner were carrying the show on KZEW. Most of you have heard some of this Rhyner audio back in December when Danny & Corby played it.
Zookeeper held on to the rest of the audio so he could list it on the 25th anniversary of when he recorded it. What they played back in December was as good as it gets, but the other audio showcases more of Stoner Rhyner back in the day. (notice when he references ‘roach clips’ hanging from the ceiling)
I pulled some meat of the Rhyner parts and put an audio file together you can listen to, but for the full clilps and the story behind it, definitely fly over to the source of all this audio gold.

Zookeeper does have a cool site going over there. I used to love the Zoo.
I think this picture and the one shown in the December post of Mike are maybe “before” KZEW. Notice the different look in the Labella & Rody 1982 video.. http://www.98kzew.com/blogs/labella-rody-1982-video …unless they are from the zoo in ‘81 and working at a rock station has taken it’s toll.
