The Olympics this year are getting big time viewers and Corby is a big supporter.
The Hardline has a spot each day called “Corby’s Olympic Window”, where he goes over the latest news from the Olympics.
Ty put together a little intro theme song to begin the segment.

The overcusser has struck many sports figures over the years.

What a juicy time for Ticket fans! If you’ve read the otherposts about Richie Whitt’s article “The Hard Lie”, then you are rubbing your hands together in anticipation for The Hardline’s response. Lucky for us, they decided to go a few segments into the subject and tell their side of the story. It’s definitely good to hear someone involved put some valid points into the story rather than just reading an article from an outside source. I’m just glad Corby put his side in because the article really made him out to be a backstabbing snake.
Reading over on Whitt’s blog, a lot of people said they were probably going to miss the audio. Guess what. . .that’s what TheUnTicket.com is for! I broke them down by segments:
Segment 1 - The Hardline’s response to “The Hard Lie”

Segment 2 - Rhyner responds about phasing out Greggo

Segment 3 - Closing comments about the whole thing

FINALLY!! The question “Where’s Greggo?” has been answered. New question is, “Where’s the Greggo drops?”

Sunday Night, May 18th, 2008, will go down as one of the most memorable concerts of my life. Radiohead, whom I had never seen in concert before, but absolutely can’t get enough of, was playing at Superpages.com (aka Starplex). The second the tickets went on sale, I was on ticketmaster trying to buy them. My first round was 4 reserved, then tried twice more and ‘thought’ I scored 8 more lawn tickets. Well, ticketmaster is smarter than I thought and they only sent me 4 reserved.
This was an issue. I had 11 other friends that were already confirmed to go to the show, including 2 that flew in from Denver, but only 4 tickets. I finally decided this was going to be an awesome show and paid a visit to Stubhub.com. Eventually I had 12 VIP tickets that put us center stage, about 5-6 rows back from general admission. They were perfect seats for a perfect show.
Danny Balis and Corby Davidson were at the show, evidently right behind us which I’ll get to in a minute, but they did a segment on The Ticket about it. Play this audio while reading the rest (thanks to BabyArm for the audio):

Mind you, there were basically 12 people that are really good at drinking with us. We hit the ice house prior, which was after we had a pre-party. Needless to say once Radiohead hit the stage, we weren’t sober. You might think, “why be so drunk during a great show?”. Well, the show was a sobering experience, but was also intoxicating at the same time. It was surreal. I love going to concerts and use to see bands all the time in my younger years, but this was definitely the best concert I’ve ever seen. (Replaced Coldplay at Red Rocks, CO).
During a quiet song “Exit Music (for a film)”, which you’ll hear Danny and Corby talk about, one of our friends decided it was a great point to scream “HOOK’EM HORNS!”. He has this knack about screaming things at the worst (or best) times and has a really loud yell. It was definitely a good laugh for us. (Side note: There was a heckler that yelled out “TOMMY” a bit into the song, which Thom kind of put in his place calling him a ‘funny guy’. This is what probably instigated our friend to yell out his Longhorn mating call. Our friend is around 2:18 of this video.)
If you’re reading this from a city where Radiohead is soon to play, I would highly recommend seeing the show. Like the Hardline said, though, if you aren’t that into Radiohead, I would suggest listening to their new cd “In Rainbows” beforehand. It is the majority of music played.
Here is the full set list Radiohead played in Dallas:
01. All I Need
02. There There
03. 15 Step
04. Bangers and Mash
05. Nude
06. Pyramid Song
07. Weird Fishes/Arpeggi
08. The National Anthem
09. Dollars and Cents
10. Faust Arp
11. Videotape
12. A Wolf At The Door
13. Optimistic
14. Reckoner
15. Everything In Its Right Place
16. Idioteque
17. Bodysnatchers
Encore One:
18. Fake Plastic Trees
19. Jigsaw Falling Into Place
20. House of Cards
21. Exit Music (For A Film)
22. The Bends
Encore Two:
23. You and Whose Army?
24. Paranoid Android
Here are some more pictures taken and a video from youtube. You can actually watch quite a few videos from this show by clicking here. The stage setup was one of the coolest I’ve ever seen. Very moody to go along with their very moody music.

After the Hardline went on a rant about Rocco Pendola, they then moved into “Blogging”. Corby makes the statement “There are too many bloggers” and also said, “I just don’t get blogs”. While I would love to call in and educate you, I figured I would “BLOG” about it. This way I get to say my piece and you or Danny don’t have the ability to cut me off.
Corby you are only showing your ignorance to the world wide web. I hear you make fun of Norm and his lack of computer skills, but your comments are making you sound a fool. Of course, Danny did too, but at least he admits he doesn’t have a computer. You asked how people get people to read their blog, where Danny said “tell your friends”, then you said “that’s kind of pretentious”. Corby, Cobby, Corra, Cobra!
This blog we started in December. We do it for fun. And we have a blast doing it. Compare it to what you do. You had no idea if anyone was going to listen to the ticket when it started, but you continued on doing what you enjoyed, then look where you guys are now. Blogs are no different than starting a radio station, except voice is replaced with text. You made the comment about how “punctuation” or they’re “poorly written” makes them horrible, but have you listened to your station? You guys make mistakes all the time. It’s human nature.
Blogs should be published when someone is passionate about a subject. Those will get the biggest reader base. You talk about subjects that not only interest you, but also appeal to a grand audience. In our situation, we tap into your market and give the listener point of view to what you boys talk about. Think of it like a rock bands fan site.
Oh and how you get people to your blog? You don’t run around and tell all your friends to read and hope they tell people. We told our friends to help us write that we knew were P1’s. If they’re not interested, cool. Where we get our readers is from the search engines, Google, Yahoo, MSN and so on. Here are a few examples:
We are averaging around 2,000 visits each day now. Before you know it, we’ll have more readers than you do listeners, then we’ll buy your contract out and fire you for being stupid.

For my favorite segment of the day, “Why today doesn’t suck”, they hand off the show to Corby Davidson, Dan McDowell and Gordon Keith. WTDS was short lived due to Wade press conference, which I thought was going to be another great bit where they talk over him, but Gordo only did it a couple times.
Gordo doing tickers didn’t disappoint first time around. Mush-Mouth made an appearance for Gordo and did the entire ticker. I figured Gordo would take over eventually, but Mush-Mouth did the entire thing, sponsors too. It was hilarious. I think the funniest part was when he broke into the sponsors.
Tim Delaughter from The Polyphonic Spree and one of my old favorite local bands, Tripping Daisy, was on with his wife. He spoke of wanting to tour with Led Zeppelin if they tour. Um, he’s probably the only one that wants that spot. But he uncomfortably said he stared at Robert Plant’s dong. I think he even knew the name of it. That should be thrown into “Gay or Not Gay”.
**UPDATE**
WOW!! Corby is the most abrasive person I think I’ve ever heard. He might as well ask Bill Clinton if he fucked Monica or ask OJ if he hate raped both victims after he sliced them up. Funny though. Bob and Dan will never get Bob Knight on their show again.
