Let me start by saying I am no fan of Leno. I watch only when he has some hot starlet on that might be wearing something interesting. I also use to love Letterman when he was late night on NBC. He’s a funny guy when he wants to be.
The reason Leno kicks the crap out of Letterman isn’t the demographics difference (like your old man in Iowa). Their demos are almost identical across age groups and regionally. The reason is that Letterman comes across as a arrogant a**hole (let’s face it, he is an a**hole). He also has been mailing it in pretty much since he’s been on CBS.
By all the accounts I’ve read, Leno works hard at his job (does standup and Vegas). He also actively pursues his everyman image (car guy, interfacing with real people). He also doesn’t get very political. Where as, Letterman has his face all the way up Obama’s a**. Letterman is only interested in Letterman and throwing softball questions to his guests.
Also, I think you are pretty much an arrogant a** as well. Or, are you just Corbie’s ventriloquist dummy (You probably wish he had warmer hands)?
Everyone is aware that there is a Nobu in Dallas right, in the Crescent Ct.? Of course, not in SoCal, no water, no one to pay for it, but the same great sushi/sashimi.
