Yesterday Bob Sturm and Dan McDowell interviewed Blake Beavan, the new pitcher drafted out of Irving high school for the Texas Rangers. A quick note, the Rangers still suck, just as they have every year since baseball was invented. Anyhow, I’m not really a big baseball fan so I can’t remember exactly when this happened, but when drafted he told the camera he couldn’t do any worse than the current Ranger pitchers.
I turned the interview on after it started but was instantly shocked at how Bob and Dan were talking to the kid. For fucks sake, he’s a freakin kid. Bob was reaming him for what he said and asked him a question, but before the kid could answer, he continued the question with a bunch of fla fla crap for another minute. Dan wasn’t as in your face as Bob, but I really wanted to jump through the radio and bitch slap them. Sure, what the kid said was ignorant, but it’s not like those dorks haven’t said stupid things. Hell, they probably say worse things in their old gray/bald years than he did.
And it is. I think the real picture is Blake has Bob and Dan on his fingertips.

dude, if I were to be held accountable for everything I said as an 18 year-old, I’d be completely fucked. I agree, DP…get off his back. so what if he was cocky….don’t you kinda want that in a pitcher? we wouldn’t know…we’ve never had anyone worth a shit on the mound in this town.

It has come to my attention that Blake B. is not that good of a pitcher. What is going to happen here is that he will get stuck in the minors, get traded, and then lost in the system due to his lack of ability. I know, I know, he was drafted in the first round…but you know, he hasn’t proven anything. It was a stupid move by JG to draft unporven, untested, BB. JD could have easily picked up a college arm that was tried and true. I really love his jack ass brothers who are riding that gravy train. I bet they are both sitting in the stands still during his minor league starts that are useless for his future. It comes down to this - I’ll be the first to say it…I think BB used HGH or steroids in high school. I think BaD should have asked him that questioins.
That’s right - I’ve put it out there. The truth is, I think that kid went from tiny little runt to his size today through his big loser brother Steven. If anyone just did a little research to see if any of them recieved shipments of these items, we’d learn much more. That family is a train wreck in the country waiting to be spotted from the sky. I think the other brother is dating or engaged to a stripper…This entire situation is a disaster…
I feel bad for the rangers at this point…
